We would like to make you aware of the obligation to check in bags and rucksacks (larger than A4 size) at the cloakroom. This will be monitored on the staircases into the halls of the Konzerthaus. Many thanks in advance for your understanding!
Catering
Before, during and up to 30 minutes after the end of the concert, guests can make the most of catering on offer in the foyer. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, quench your thirst with a soft drink or treat yourself to a light bite during your concert outing. There’s something for every taste.
Reservation concert intermission catering
For a carefree concert event we offer you the opportunity upon your arrrival to reserve a table for during the intermission. Please order your catering wishes at the main counter. You will be given a table number where your order will be waiting for your at the start oft he intermission. Payment will be made at time of order to give you enough time to enjoy.
GETTING HERE
Connections between the Konzerthaus Freiburg conference centre and national and international transport networks are excellent thanks to our proximity to airports, ICE lines and the motorway, meaning it is very easy to reach the Konzerthaus using all methods of transport.

Rail connections
Freiburg is on the Frankfurt – Karlsruhe – Freiburg – Basel ICE/IC line. From the main train station in Freiburg, you’re just a few steps away from the Konzerthaus.

Long-distance bus connections
There are numerous long-distance coach services connecting Freiburg with many German cities. The bus station at Freiburg’s main train station is located directly opposite the Konzerthaus conference centre.
Public transport
The Konzerthaus Freiburg is ideally situated for public transport links. The main train station is right opposite, where you’ll also find the bus station and tram stops. Taxis are available in front of the main entrance to the Konzerthaus Freiburg.
The congress ticket (congress ticket = public transport ticket) entitles the holder to use the public transport system free of charge. This initiative is valid in the Regio-Verkehrsverbund Freiburg (RVF), in which 20 transport companies operating in the city and region have joined forces.

Travelling by car
From the north and the south via the Rheintal motorway A5 Frankfurt-Basel, take the Freiburg-Mitte exit. From the exit slip road, the Konzerthaus Freiburg is around 10 minutes away. The route is signposted.
From the east via the A81 Stuttgart-Singen and the B31 Donaueschingen, Titisee-Neustadt. For Schwarzwaldstrasse, follow in the direction of the Freiburg-Mitte slip road. The route to the Konzerthaus Freiburg is signposted.
Travelling by bike
The Freiburg bike sharing scheme Frelo has a rental station next to the Konzerthaus Freiburg, where you can hire and return bikes. Bike hire in Freiburg – FRELO (frelo-freiburg.de)
For cyclists with their own bike, the bike station at the train station offers covered bike spaces just 100 m from the Konzerthaus Freiburg.

TRAVELLING BY PLANE
It is possible to get to Freiburg from several airports: Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport (EuroAirport) is the closest airport at one hour’s drive away. It offers international scheduled and charter flights and can be reached from Freiburg via the Airport Bus and by bus and train with changes in Basel. By car, the airport can be reached via the A5 motorway in the direction of Basel, then at the Neuenburg interchange head towards Ottmarsheim/Mulhouse on the A35, or just before the Basel toll station, head towards Palmrheinbücke, Huningue and St. Louis.
Located next to the Messe Freiburg events area and just 1.5 km (approx. 1 mile) from the city centre, Freiburg Airport (a customs airport) is a popular and direct flight connection for business travellers, traders and private pilots coming to the Messe Freiburg or the event-filled centre of Freiburg. The airport is authorised for aircraft up to 10,000 tonnes. The city centre can be reached via bus or taxi.
Strasbourg Airport is located around 80 km (approx. 50 miles) from Freiburg, just south of Strasbourg (in Entzheim). You can get to Strasbourg using public transport (via Offenburg and Kehl); then there are many options for getting to the airport such as the bus, tram or regional trains. By car, you can reach the airport on the A5 motorway and national roads in France.
The airport Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport is around 100 km (approx. 60 miles) north of Freiburg between Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe. You can reach the airport by rail on the Rheintal line with a connecting bus. There are also shuttle bus connections directly from Freiburg bus station. Zurich Airport is around 150 km (approx. 95 miles) from Freiburg and there are very good direct ICE connections between the Zurich and Freiburg main railway stations. There are public transport connections between the Zurich main train station and Zurich airport.
The airport Stutttgart is around 200 km (approx. 125 miles) from Freiburg and easily accessible by rail from the Freiburg main train station via Karlsruhe to Stuttgart, then from there to the airport by S-Bahn (city rail).
The airport Frankfurt is around 270 km (approx. 170 miles) from Freiburg, but because of the excellent direct rail connections, the international hub is still a good connection. You can reach the long-distance railway station at Frankfurt Airport in around two hours from the Freiburg main train station. From there, you have direct access to the terminal.
PARKING – CAR PARKS at the Konzerthaus Freiburg
If you’re travelling by car, we want to make sure your arrival is as convenient as possible. There are two underground car parks with around 800 spaces right outside the Konzerthaus Freiburg conference centre.
In addition, the four-star Novotel Freiburg am Konzerthaus hotel is directly adjacent, and offers a further 102 parking spaces in its underground car park. Thanks to our proximity to the historic old town and Freiburg’s pedestrian area, all other car parks and underground car parks in the city centre are easy to reach from the Konzerthaus Freiburg conference centre.
