Runder Saal

Gladiatorial contests belong, of course, to Roman history. The Circular Hall in the Kongresszentrum Konzerthaus Freiburg is reminiscent of them. It provides a room with the ambience of an amphitheatre. Set up on a podium, it is especially suitable for lectures. Two staircases are located at the sides of the podium, and connect the surrounding gallery directly with the main auditorium. An unusual spatial feature which supports special moments with the necessary drama, maybe even high drama. Natural lighting modulated by a variable lighting control system (which can be completely darkened) also lends this room a special quality.
